What pet/s do you have and what do you like best about them?
I have a 4 year old miniature schnauzer named Huxley!
Where do I begin…Huxley is such a great little dog, I love everything about him. Though my favourite thing about Hux is probably his huge zest for life, it’s contagious! He is always up for any adventure, super confident and very social. He is an absolute pleasure to have in the family.
Why did you become a vet nurse and what do you enjoy most about your job?
I started in the animal care industry working in an animal shelter, after volunteering as a dog walker on the weekends. Although challenging at times, this was the first job I had ever had that I was excited to go to work for and spend my day with animals. I pursued vet nursing as I was always very interested in learning how to optimise pets’ health and wellbeing, to give them the best life possible. My favourite thing about my job aside from our beautiful patients, is being around like minded people, clients and co-workers alike, who genuinely love and care for their pets as family.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
I love watching movies and documentaries (about dogs) and reading (about dogs), but I find taking Huxley for a nice walk to the park or river is the best way for me to reset and relax.
Share something weird or wonderful about yourself.
I am truly dog obsessed, as you may have gathered, and a huge dog training enthusiast. I am currently training Hux to compete in agility, scent work and trick trials. On the weekend you will find me dog training and at numerous dog sports and show events. Dog. Nerd.
